Could YOU be our next Labour Councillor?

Labour candidates, Councillors and activists on the eve of the 2011 local elections

Do you want to make your community a better place?

Are you angry about the Tory-Lib Dem Government, and the disastrous Tory Council in Southampton, and want to do something to make a difference?

Southampton Labour is encouraging local party members who may never have stood for elected office before to try out as a candidate for the 2012 local elections.

Over the summer and autumn our local party will be selecting candidates for the 16 Council seats up for election in May 2012.  This set of elections will determine who runs Southampton in the future, and is our best chance for 4 years to kick the Tories out of office locally.

If you’re a Labour member interested in getting involved in the campaign, please get in touch and we’ll send you some information about how to apply to be a candidate.

We know that the best political decisions take place when ordinary people are involved in the discussion.  We want the decisions we make and the campaigns we fight to be truly representative of all parts of our city, as we work to build a better Southampton everyone can be proud of.

But to do that, we need ordinary people just like YOU to get involved!

So if you’re interested in being a candidate or would just like to be more involved, please get in touch today.
